There are some sessions that feel extra close to the heart, and Abbey & Blake’s was one of them. I’ve known Abbey and her family for years, which made getting to photograph this milestone for her and Blake so incredibly special. When she asked me to capture their engagement photos, it was such an easy and joyful yes. And the fact that we got to do them at her mom’s stunning beachfront home in West Seattle? Total dream.

Why This West Seattle Engagement Photoshoot Was So Special

Not only are Abbey and Blake one of the sweetest couples, but this session felt like coming full circle. Photographing people you already know and love always brings out an extra level of comfort and authenticity, and that absolutely showed in their gallery. From the second we started, they slipped so easily into being themselves—laughing, holding hands, and soaking in every moment together.

The location couldn’t have been more perfect. Her mom’s home sits right on the beach, with sweeping views of the Puget Sound that made every backdrop feel like something out of a painting. West Seattle has so many gems, but this private and meaningful spot took things to another level. There’s just something about being by the water that feels peaceful, timeless, and a little bit magical.

A Session Full of Love and Dreamy Vibes

As the evening light softened, Abbey and Blake cuddled up on the shoreline, danced in the sand, and shared those little glances that say everything without words. I couldn’t stop clicking the shutter, because every second was so full of love. I’m completely obsessed with how the whole session turned out, the kind of gallery that makes you smile from ear to ear just scrolling through it.

These two are such a joy to be around, and I couldn’t be more excited for everything ahead of them. Getting to freeze this moment in time at such a meaningful place makes the images feel even more special.
