I recently had the absolute honor of documenting Kerstyn and Ben’s wedding at Axis Pioneer Square—an iconic Seattle venue that somehow manages to be both industrial and elegant all at once. With its exposed brick, soaring ceilings, and rich history, it’s the kind of space that tells a story before you even raise your camera. The day kicked off with a classic Seattle overcast sky, and let me tell you—the soft light? A dream for portraits. We made the most of it with a round of Occidental Square photos, where Kerstyn and Ben shared the sweetest first look that left everyone a little misty-eyed (yours truly included).
From the moment I arrived, the vibe was light, joyful, and full of anticipation. You could feel the love in the room. Kerstyn and Ben’s connection is so authentic and grounded—there’s no posing needed when two people are just naturally in sync. Watching Ben turn around to see his bride for the first time was pure magic. That moment, raw and overflowing with emotion, set the tone for everything that followed.
Their ceremony was heartfelt and intimate, surrounded by friends and family who clearly adore them. One of the things that stood out most was how centered community was throughout the entire day. Whether it was a hug from a parent, a quiet moment with the wedding party, or a glance exchanged mid-vow, there was no shortage of genuine, candid moments that made documenting this day such a joy.
And then came the party. And WOW—these two know how to throw one. From dancing and laughter to spontaneous beer pong and so many sweet in-between moments, the reception was an explosion of joy and celebration. We snuck away for a few minutes to take some blue hour portraits on the cobblestone streets of Pioneer Square, and it felt like the perfect way to close out such an incredible day—just the two of them, soaking it all in.
Kerstyn and Ben, thank you for trusting me with your day. You two are absolute gems, and getting to witness your love and celebrate with your crew was truly something special. Cheers to forever!

“My husband and I aren’t the most photogenic people on the planet (think Chandler from Friends), but Brynna has a way about her that makes you feel beautiful and a natural in front of a camera. Throughout our entire COVID wedding experience, Brynna was nothing but flexible and positive. When the big day came, I was miserable from the anxiety, but when our photos came back I saw nothing but beautiful memories. Looking at our photos brings tears to my eyes; my husband and I are having a tough time choosing which to hang in our home! I cannot recommend Brynna enough, you won’t be disappointed!” – Kathryn + Shane
