Why the Small Moments Tell the Biggest Stories
As a photographer, especially in the world of weddings, families, and maternity, the most important skill I’ve developed isn’t knowing how to pose people or get the perfect golden hour lighting (although don’t get me wrong— those help). It’s the art of noticing.
Documenting the In-Between Moments on Your Wedding Day
Noticing the quiet hand squeeze before a bride walks down the aisle.
The way a dad’s lip trembles during the father-daughter dance.
The toddler who’s completely disinterested in posed family photos but lights up when mom whispers something silly in their ear.
The way a partner instinctively places a hand on a growing belly, like they’re already reaching for their baby.
These aren’t the moments you plan for. They’re the ones that unfold naturally and pass by in seconds. But they are the story.
Maternity Photography is About More Than the Bump
When I photograph expectant parents, I look for more than just beautiful silhouettes and that classic maternity glow. I want to catch the moments where connection shows up in real, unscripted ways. A partner pulling you in close. You resting your hands where your baby kicks. A quiet tear because it took a long time to get here.
Family Photography That Feels Like Real Life (But Better)
I don’t expect your kids to stand still. In fact, I hope they don’t. The magic often happens in the mess—in tickle fights, run-away hugs, and those quick looks between parents who are just trying to keep it together. That’s the stuff you’ll want to remember one day. Not perfection— just presence.
The Emotional Work of Being a Photographer
There’s something deeply human about wanting to remember. And I think that’s what draws me to this work again and again: being the one who notices the things you might’ve missed in the whirlwind of it all. Especially after becoming a mom myself, I see more and more what a priceless commodity these little moments are.
Why Noticing is the Key to Storytelling in Photography
Whether it’s your wedding day, your last few weeks of pregnancy, or a chaotic afternoon wrangling your toddlers into semi-matching outfits for a family shoot— I’m here to notice what matters.
Sometimes that’s the look you give your partner when the room gets quiet.
It’s the way your baby rests their hand on your chest like they’ve always known you.
Or it’s just the light falling across your face as you laugh.
It’s all worthy of being remembered.
Let’s Capture What Really Matters
So when I’m photographing you, I’m not just taking pictures— I’m putting your life and love and connections and story into little squares for you to save. And I promise, I’m practicing the art of noticing.
